At Brickate, we value your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your data while you use brickate.org and our software tools.
We only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services:
- Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password (encrypted).
- Transaction Data: When you purchase "Bricks," we collect your PayPal Transaction ID, Payer ID, and purchase history. We use this to verify payments and credit your account.
- Verification Status: We track whether your email has been verified. Accounts that are not verified within 24 hours are automatically and permanently deleted.
- Verification Status: Unverified accounts are deleted after 24 hours.
- User-Generated Content: Any game thumbnails or assets you upload are stored using BackBlaze B2.
2. Technical Data & Cookies
- Cookies: We use cookies to keep you logged into our website. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. You should never share your cookie information with others, as it can be used to access your account.
- Security: We use Google reCAPTCHA V3 to protect our site from spam and abuse. This service may collect hardware and software information to verify you are a human.
- IP Addresses: Your IP address is kept private from game creators and other users.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party providers:
- PayPal: To process payments for virtual currency. When you pay, you are subject to the PayPal Privacy Statement.
- MongoDB: For storing account information and platform data.
- BackBlaze B2: For storing images, thumbnails, and game objects.
- Google: For bot protection (reCAPTCHA).
4. Game Creator Responsibilities
Brickate provides a platform for creators to build their own games.
- Custom Systems: Creators may build their own in-game systems (like chat or banning systems).
- Data Safety: While Brickate limits what data creators can see (only usernames and platform-provided IDs), Brickate is not responsible for data you voluntarily share within a user-created game.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Active Accounts: Your data is stored in our database for as long as your account remains active and verified.
- Financial Records: Even if you delete your account, we may retain Transaction IDs and purchase history for a period of time to comply with legal, tax, and anti-fraud requirements.
- Deletion Requests: Users may request the deletion of their account. Please note that once an account is deleted, all associated data, including "Bricks" (virtual currency) and game uploads, will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
- Unverified Accounts: To keep our database clean, any account that fails to verify its email within 24 hours of registration is purged.
6. "Work-In-Progress" (WIP) Disclaimer
As Brickate is in development, we may update our practices. Major changes to data handling will be announced on our official Discord server.
